All homeowners in Kentucky subdivisions should be aware of the proposed legislation call the Kentucky Planned Community Act. Sponsored by a National company who provides services for a fee to HOAs, this legislation would require all subdivisions to either have a HOA board or to hire someone to take its place.
This legislation will, among other things, increase expenses to nearly every subdivision lot owner in the state, particularly if they do not have a Board of Directors currently in place.
The Kentucky Association of Realtors have reviewed this legislation and have decided to oppose it at the legislative level. Contact your representative and make sure your thoughts about this actions are known.
