As our unusual weather continues, now would be a good time to consider what you would do if our area were visited by a tornado, an earthquake or sever winter weather.  What would you do if a tornado passed through Trigg county?  How would you communicate if the cell towers were inoperable?  Do you have a store of food and water should the roads become impassable? FEMA suggests you should be able to shelter in place for 3 days.  In an earthquake (the New Madris Fault is only 60 miles west of us) bridges often fail.  How many bridges between you and the Hospital or shelter?  What would be your best route?

A little forethought now will go a long ways should a disaster happen.  Realty Times has a recent article about this issue.  CLICK HERE to read the article.
