Get Prequalified
Why should I get Pre-Qualified?
Getting pre-qualified before you begin house shopping is in your best interests!!!
1. The pre-qualification process will determine for you exactly how much you'll be able to afford and what kinds of loans and interest rates are available to you. (You may be surprised at how much mortagage money is available to you. Pre-qualification will give you the opportunity to consider what size house payments you want each month.)
2. Many Sellers are restricting access to their homes to potential buyers who have been prequalified. Sellers do not want strangers walking through their home if they are not qualified to purchase.
3. Pre-Qualification is easy, normally no cost, and often can be done over the phone. Most lenders are happy to assist you in purchasing a new home by getting you pre-qualified. They will ask you basic questions about how much you make, how much you owe, how much you have in savings, etc. Based upon those answers they will determine what size mortgage you are qualified for. Note: When the pre-Qualification is complete, be sure to ask for a written "Statement of Pre-Qualification" and bring it with you when you begin your house search.
4. Getting Pre-Qualified should be at the top of your list of things to do to buy a home. We will be happy to provide contact information for a variety of mortgage lenders upon request.
